“Scratch”ing and Clawing to a More Interactive Project

Programming could be considered the 21st Century Skill, and it is important to provide our students an opportunity to experience programming and utilize it for learning. Thankfully, this task no longer involves typing lines of code and a stand alone class. Any teacher can utilize different block based coding resources, like Scratch, Hopscotch, or MIT App Inventor as a way for students to demonstrate their learning while building skills and familiarity as it relates to programming.

In this session, teachers will receive some basics on the Scratch platform, examples of how Scratch has been integrated into subject areas, and of course plenty of time to tinker and design their own Scratch experience. Why offer another slideshow presentation when students could be creating something interactive?
